I really like the wise suggestions to make crazy quilts. If you embroider either by hand or machine, you could further personalize the quilt. Dealing with such a wide variety of fabrics can be overwhelming. Perhaps you could narrow that variety by selecting a few more appropriate fabrics to make it all go easier.
