Oh yeah, I've loved quilts others would not appreciate. A few years ago, when I first started quilting, I bought a half finished quilt in an online estate sale. I may have paid $5.00 for it, I really don't remember. It was a challenge, to say the least. It had been strip quilted. It was red, white and blue. It was too narrow to be a nice quilt, and there was no way, as a new quilter to fix it. Still, I loved it.

I took it apart. I added squares. It was crooked, and when I finished, it was more crooked. I added borders. However, I didn't quit. I liked that quilt. It reminded me of one of my Aunts. She loved flashy things and red was her favorite color. I was a pallbearer at her funeral, where I wore a red dress. It's my "Aunt Shorty" quilt. I love it.

Some quilts just speak to you.
