I love your feathering! Did you use a stencil or free hand? How large is the quilt? I can't wait to see the whole quilt! About the edge. Trim it if you don't need the larger size . If you do I wouldn't over stitch it with echoes or scallops, just perhaps one row of stitching. But that's just MHO and it is your quilt. Do what feels right to you.
