I am still selecting batiks for my stained glass quilt. I want a bright quilt, so most of my batiks will be jewel tones, but I feel that my pattern also needs some paler tones. I have seen some lovely quilts where a different color was used for the leading. I will use black because I love the sharp contrast and want a traditional look.

I want different patterns on each batik, as this is how the stained glass window from my youth was created. I am in no rush to make this quilt when I find a batik that I love, I buy it and add it to my gradually growing collection. My challenge is to buy colors that I don't normally buy like purples, yellows, pinks, oranges, and to choose fabrics that are not jewel tone. I plan on using the 2016 BOM - Ray of Hope blocks from by Ula Lenz. I will not be following her color choices but will use them to guide.
