There is something unique about the taste of Mexican vanilla. We used to buy it only because it was cheap. It was always an item that we brought back across the boarder when visiting Mexico and over the years, after many visits south of the border, our family has really grown to love the flavor of it. It's kind of like Mexican beer, you can't quite put your finger on it, but it just tastes different, more, "down home."
Do you like Mexican vanilla? What is your favorite type of vanilla to bake with?

I love it! I know a lady that makes cakes for a living that says Madagascan vanilla is the best, but it is very expensive. I love the Mexican one and I'll stick to that.
