Having never made prime rib myself, I wonder if you couldn't just put them in the oven with your roast? Of course I am thinking baked potatoes which may be different from the Roast Spuds you are referring to.
At any rate, hope it works out for you. I gave up cooking that big Christmas dinner years ago, so know what you are talking about.
