The Clifton Chronicles by Jeffrey Archer (I'm not so much a fan of his other books.) The Clifton Chronicles interested me because the Clifton name is part of my history. This is a series and start at the first. They are about a family in England. It's a family saga, but is full of machinations of characters and is a very interesting series. I recommended it to a friend and we still talk about it years after reading it.
Edited to add- I don't know if this series is on Kindle or any e Reader, but it's been out awhile, so it probably is. Our library has it in hardback.
