I was wondering what you were considering to be a 156. Not sure I've seen one of those. Yes many more sources for 66,99 and 15s than a 27 Since they are that cheap I'd recommend you get all three ( what else would I say?) YOu can learn on the 66 first and then with your newfound abilities take on the 27 and the Winthrop. keep water away from them and oil everything that moves, or should.. and sewing machine oil. 3 in 1 will lock these puppies up.

I thought the Winthrop was probably Badged. I just haven't been able to find anything about that name. I've learned so much from everyone on this board. That one is on sale for $120.00 Don't know if I can justify that one. It's in beautiful condition, though. So is the table. I'm going to take a photo of the different bobbins that I remember it could use, as well as the tension, etc. with me tomorrow, to see if it looks close to anything I've seen or read about and just to see if it's something easily gotten. I also want to give it a spin, so to speak. Don't know if I'd be able to talk them down on price a little bit.
I've noticed how difficult it is to load photos on this board. I tried when I first joined and just yesterday and had a dickens of time. I tried to resize them and that didn't work so I just gave up. I'll keep trying.
The only reason why I thought the one might be a 156 instead of a 66 is because I can't remember what the whole serial # is. I know it's AC6----, and then I forgot the sequence. My DH thought it was AC633---, I thought it was AC6603--. I didn't have anything to write the number down with. Us being people of a certain age, we should know better than trying to remember something.
My DH is upset with you because now he's excited and can't wait to go and pick up at least the 27 and the 66(?) and then look at the Winthrop again. We don't need very much encouragement. We need a chaperone!
