I would say if possible with your colors, warm the water a bit. I think warm would help dissolve the glue better than cold. I basted my last 2 quilts (done alike for mom and MIL) with diluted Elmers and washed them in warm (with off-brand color catchers) and all the glue seemed to come out fine. Good luck and let us know!
