I used several of the methods in this book on all my large quilts (until I got a longarm) and it made the quilting process much easier.
My quilt as you go is a variation of the techniques in this book and they work well for hand quilting. I've not tried them yet for machine quilting but plan to one of these days. I've use this method for years and in fact the quilt in my avatar was done using my variation of her technique.
