I think the pattern is so well written there isn't anything aside from it that I'd recommend. I did use 505 temporary spray adhesive to hold the 3 layers together when I quilted them together. I do recommend using a walking foot when sewing the 3 layers. Another great thing about this pattern is there are videos available for each step of the pattern.
Annie really did make this as easy as it could possibly be.
I'm making a second tote bag now, using fat quarters that I fussy cut for the sides of the tote. I have it cut out and am putting it together later this week.
