I have a Cal King comforter, it is 102 wide by 94 Long, my bedspread is 114 wide by 120 long. Ask your daughter if the quilt will be just for show on top of a bedspread. Perhaps once you tell her she'll have to take it to the laundromat to wash it she'll change her mind to a throw size. She and hubby can snuggle under it while watching TV.
