I have matched stripes & fabrics with very obvious patterns like that for a long time, but I have never used the glue or thought to iron the fabric down, so I did get several tips from the tutorial. Thanks for sharing it. When I have had to make fabric for a larger piece in a block or a border and where the join is going is too obvious, I use the same technique.
But, I have to say, that if I am doing a striped binding, I really like it cut on the diagonal. I like that look a whole lot better. It's just more fun for me. And yes, I still match the stripes.
