I have made small blankets from 1 and 1/2 yards of coordinating flannel and minky. I cut the flannel and minky into a one yard square and simply sew around the edges and then turn right sides out. The left over cuts go into burp clothes made from cloth diapers, Sometimes I cover the whole diaper with the fabric, some I have made with just a strip of the fabric down the middle of the diaper. These are always well received. The moms seem to like the smaller size of the blankets to cover baby in the car seats.Might add that the next time I make one of these sets, I will sew an X across the blanket to keep the fabrics from balling up in the wash. No one has really mentioned this to me, but seems like a good idea.
