I wanted to try something different and I did this mini wholecloth and then painted the tulips and the center with derwent inktense pencils.

Here's the steps I did ...

FMQd the whole thing, then washed it (had to remove all of my markings!)
While it was wet I coloured the tulips and the center piece with the inktense pencils.
Kept it flat overnight to dry

Woke up to this: first picture is just the one flower - the paint ran???
Washed the whole thing to see if I could get it off where it ran ... and ended up with the second picture (whole quilt)

Does anyone have any ideas why / how it ran when it was laying flat?

Does anyone have any ideas how to make it blend / fix?
