I had a little baby spoon here from GK's and tried that...it definately was the right size but it was awkward. I always fold the quilt over and hold with my left thumb with the second finger under for the needle to hit on before coming up. Couldn't do everything at once lOL I think I will try and practice with it...the stitches were definately very even. My DD uses the little plastic ovals to stick on her left finger but I like feeling that needle hit the finger...
