I use my cast iron skillets for everything. I have one 14" one (huge) 3- 12" ones and 2- 5" ones as well as 2 flat iron ones for warming foods. Everything from frying to baking. What is corn bread without cast iron. Cakes are great! that is why I have 2 -12" ones. Keep in mind it is narrower at the bottom than the top. There is usually one sitting on the stove ready for use.
