That's right - one part of the seam (which is 7/8 to 1 inch)to the left and one to the right, then to sew the rows together - same process - fabric right sides together - sew press open - fold topstitch. The outer edge of the quilt is finished in the same manner.
These would be great kid friendly quilts - because they are fast and there are a couple of the patterns that would lend themselves well to children's prints.
