Hi, I do a lot of crumb squares. I have a jar on my table for all the scraps over 1/2 inch. When I just want mindless sewing or the jar is full I get a used dryer sheet and start the process. You need to be sure the dryer sheet can stand the hot iron, some of them do melt. I use these for center squares in star quilts or the one I'm doing now has a 5 1/2 crumb square and 2 borders 1 1/2 and 3 inches alternating wide and narrow strips. I really like the way they look.
