They need to look like the pair of blocks that I posted. You can ignore the first one that's just two colors. That was just to illustrate the "beam" description. You will be using 3 colors. Notice that in the pair of red/blue/white blocks, they're pointing toward each other. They both have red on the top, white on the bottom, as if one is a mirror of the other. Fabric #3 (my blue) is in the center of all of your blocks. My fabric #2 is the red, my fabric #1 is the white.

Perhaps reorienting the blocks will make it clearer what I mean. if you point the center beam to upper right, half of the blocks will have fabric #2 on top, half will have fabric #1. The same for the sides, half with #1, half with #2. These are your 32 blocks, 16 one way (#2 on top) and 16 the other way, (#1 on top.)
