Thanks Jeanie. I saw the picture online. Silly me, I forgot that I can magnify pictures on a computer, and when I did that, then I saw some were plaids and prints. My lap top screen is pretty small, and that's why I thought they were solid fabrics.
If you start with the center (for inspiration), wouldn't it be nice to do the blocks out of order, rather than starting with #1, #2 and so on? If you did the center, then the blocks that go around it, then you could periodically sew a row onto the center as you go instead of collecting a pile of blocks to set all at the end.
