I did it using my grandmother's method, plastic template to trace on the fabric, cut the logs, sew them together. Looking back, I realize that was probably the worst decision I made. I also didn't have half of the supplies that I do now, or access to information I needed to troubleshoot the problem and save the quilt top. My aunt that quilts had broken her leg and I didn't want to bug her with endless quilting questions, so I just gave up and threw the quilt top out. I figured when the time was right, I'd get another chance to do it again.
