Ok I know that this is an old, old thread that got revived by a question, but I just want to make the point that it kind of depends on the guy. My husband's favorite color is yellow, so I'm making him a yellow quilt. Not something most people think of when they think "masculine". My adult son's favorite quilt - he actually asked me if he could have it - is this one with all the pretty pastels. He said it reminds him of summer. I thrilled that he wanted it and immediately handed it to him, along with a big hug.
