I personally own a Janome and an Elna (Janome twin) and would consider the Janome 6600 or 6700 (not the 6650 since it does not have AcuFeed, which is the built-in "walking foot capability" available).
Admittedly I don't know a lot about sewing machines, but from what I've read of the AcuFeed system, it's great for machine quilting but not so much for free motion. Plus, some reviewers said it isn't too good for piecing. Given that Cheryl only machine quilts baby quilts (anything bigger she sends out to a longarm quilter), she seems pretty happy with the 6650. Of course as in many things in life, your mileage may vary.
