I have to tell you that I just went through the same problem. I sat and stared at the quilt for some time and then
finally decided I had the answer. Well, I ripped out my "solution " twice until I came up with the third one. So this is
not to give you an answer but to encourage you to keep trying. Incidentally the quilt looks pretty good now if I do
say so myself.
