Hip hip hooray! One of our local shops here applied for an exemption and was open as an essential business. Most of the other shops were completely closed down and business was booming. First my fancy modern machine went down. Then my vintage machine. I was using a really low end Brother, my travel/class machine for several months and it got the job done but barely.

Yes, it took a month and not the usual 2-3 days before he could get to my machines. But he was doing as much as he could as fast as they could, and they had so many people they had to bring back their vacuum repair specialist too.

They had cleaned up my old vintage machine but left the silly old bandaid I use for a seam allowance marker, when I laughed they said that such things often had stories behind them and they always left them in place. Such a sweet couple.

Turns out the lawnmower repair guys were in the same boat -- once they re-opened it took about a month to get our lawnmower back. Good thing we have nice neighbors.
