I enjoyed doing this because paper piecing is great if you're a clumsy sewer and have trouble lining up corners, sewing in a straight line and whatnot. I did goof majorly though. When I first started, I had the white part and the colors switched around. I just kept sewing but omitted the last white row so the colors would be in the corners.

I wanted to make piano keys or something for the border but then I saw the blocks I chose that were the perfect size and those were paper pieced too. I think it looks better than piano keys and I didn't want to do the math anyway!

Turned out way better than I expected. My daughter and I are very happy with it. Probably going to back it with part of a queen sized navy blue sheet. I haven't decided on binding yet. Probably whatever's left of the matching fabric that will pass. Found some batting tucked away in the closet so need to scrounge a couple boards to roll them up on for basting as I think I'm out of or dangerously low on spray and my basting area is currently covered up with an SUV. (I spray baste on the garage floor)

It's not a quilt proper-it's just a little throw.
