Default quilt design

I used up these wonderful polka dot charm squares that I received from my secret pal during a monthly swap on this board (thank you!). I absolutely love polka dots! I turned each one into a 3d pinwheel (4 inch finished pinwheel square), then put them randomly together in an untraditional non gridded sort of way.

How would you quilt this? I do not want to quilt over the actual pinwheels, so I can keep the 3d look. I attached a few options, but am open to more ideas! the first keeps the angular feel with the lightning shapes and is filled with pebbles. the other two give it a sort of ribbon-y feel, one with long lines and occasional loops, and the last with smaller segments similar to mctavishing.
