I couldn't relate to any of the designs you created. They all seem to compete with the pinwheels instead of enhance them. I found this picture using ..and the heavy meander quilting around the first 2 rows of pinwheels make them pop out. They are the star and not just part of the chorus. It could be pebbles or anything that is round and small.
