Realize first of all that Singer used that badge for many years. It may not have been made in 51 at all. I personally wouldn't pay $5.00 more for the badge, but some folks really like them.
The 15 clone looks interesting too. and the newer ones can show you why that some of us try to stick to no plastic..
I'd surely want to confirm with the giver that they would still be there at the mid point of your drive.
I have plentyt so I wouldn't do it. 2 years ago I would have made the drive.
