To keep us entertained, I’m sharing a photo of work I’m doing for my dad. He will be 98 in October! To put that in perspective, he was born in 1922.

Last year he gave me his ‘summer quilt’ to repair. A family member gave it to him many years ago. It has no batting, so lighter weight for summer nights. The backing has worn out and started to get holes in the fabric. He asked If I could fix it for him. I’m a little embarrassed he missed his summer quilt this year because I’m just now starting to work on it.

I’ve decided to replace the backing. I’m removing the binding and noticed the Quilter used a method I’m not familiar with. I’ve attached a couple of pictures that hopefully give you an idea of how she did it. Very interesting.
