Default Votes For Women Quilt

Hey all,
Here is a quilt I made for our state library (Library of Va) to be included in their display commemorating the ratification of the 19th amendment. It's about 18" x 22". I hand painted the "Votes For Women" and the 36 stars that represent the number of states that needed to vote for the amendment to ratify it. The names on the left side and across the top are of all the people known to have participated in the suffragist movement in the United States from the Federal Period up until the date of ratification. The names were printed on fabric using my inkjet printer and then heat set. The binding was also hand painted to match the lettering and stars. I used white and gold colors because those were the main colors that the suffragists used in the US. It is ruler quilted around the names and then free motion echoed around the stars and words in the black part.

Thanks for looking,
Rob
