I don't have experience with either of these machines but just wanted to add my 2 cents. I'm married to an engineering type and I never take his "advice" on what to buy. Men have a different outlook on what is important in a machine than women who actually sew on them do. Go to the store, try the machines for yourself (preferable without your husband) and make the decision. It's your machine and you are the one that's going to be using it. It needs to be what you want, not what hubby thinks you should have.
