Default wool cover

I was going to do the same, and I just ordered a wool blanket to do this. My 30 year old teflon cover just bit the dust. I thought of washing the blanket first and seeing if I could felt it a bit or shrink it a little to make it a little thicker before the cotton cover. Let me know your experience if you go through with it. Someone suggested the army blanket as a cheap way to do this but I don't have a surplus store near me. Reba
