This one could be done with the hexie fully assembled
with an extra triangles sewn on opposite sides of the hexie.

Otherwise, I would sit down with that hexie paper, and colour away,
to see what I could design for fully assembled hexies.
And I bet you will come up with something totally unique and amazing!!!

I'll be looking forward to seeing what results!

that setting is actually easy once you get the triangles the right size.
