It costs sooooo much money to plan a show and then cancel. Staff time, non-refundable deposits, advance payments for vendors of services such as food and facilities. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are running out of money and need to recoup,for a while; other organizations that hold large get together have had to do so also.
that was my thought too. It’s a big undertaking and still not sure if enough quilters would take a gamble on it and any related travel.
