Welcome. Yes, it looks like it should just swing open from the front toward the left. It
looks like the hinge is on the top back so there is probably some sort of thing that it holds it together about two thirds of the way down on front. I'm thinking that if you grab it with your left hand thumb in the front and fingers in the back that you can pull with your thumb and sort of push with your fingers on the back that the face cover will swing open.
