Storm at Sea is a lovely design for a quilt. One thing to be aware of is that there are two variations of it. If you use this block:

you will end up with diamonds in each block being next to diamonds in the next block, like this:


If you use *parts* of the block, you can avoid have the diamonds next to each other, and get a quilt design like this:

(This has the blocks separated by small spaces so you can see what goes into each block.)

Both types make for lovely quilts - it's all a matter of personal preference. The picture you posted is of the second type.

If you search on-line for images of Storm at Sea quilts, you will discover a tremendous variety, as the colors chosen and how they are placed can create very different looks. It can be very inspiring!
