I'm not sure what I am doing wrong but I can't get these clue 4 units to be rectangular (they are shorter across the top long side than along the bottom) and they are 1/8" too small in length no matter how scant the 1/4"seams I sew are. It's clue 4 that is the problem as they were all the correct shape and size at the end of clue 3. I feel like my neutral fabric is rather thinner than my other fabrics and seems a bit stretchier, so that might be the problem, but I'm not sure how to fix it? I starch all my fabric and press on a wool mat. I do use steam while pressing...maybe I shouldn't?

Should I just leave them for now until I see how they get incorporated into the final quilt (then adjust them somehow), or should I square them to a slightly smaller size now? I do not have enough fabric to re-do them all, so that's not really an option.
