Color tolerance is such a personal choice. You might not like my choices. I don't tolerate drab or gloomy colors. Our house colors are bright tropical colors. My sewing room is painted in SW 6786 at the moment. It will be re-done this year. No white walls ever! I suggest going to a paint store and purchasing one the fan decks with chips or get some of the sample brochures. I like SW paints typically. Start a notebook with some sheet protectors for ideas/samples. Add a layout of the room. Make notes of the activities or spaces you need to organize.

Storage needs?

What direction does the room face?

What type of lighting do you have available?

What flooring is in the room that needs to work with the paint color?

I like to start with a fabulous fabric and make a fun valance. Then work through the paint sample process. You want to purchase a pack of wall boards to put the samples on. You can move it around the room and take it with you when making other selections. Don't put the sample directly on the wall over the current color.

I love the planning part. It's a time to play and dream! Good luck!
