Here's a picture of the Helen Godden Magic Mushroom quilt I've been working on. We started out by using transparent dyes to paint the mushrooms on muslin, then painted the background dark. Then quilted the mushrooms and the background. Now I'm working on using opaque paints to paint some areas of the background and mushrooms. I'm finding this last part to be the most tedious because I have a hard time staying inside the lines
