Thank you Patrice. I had found that video but dismissed it because she has the slots numbered differently than my manual does. I thought there were only 4 slots but a closer look shows she didn't count the piping slot. I think joining lace together might be the advanced version of joining the hem lace to the fabric. I will practice that first and when I have that down, will try the joining the lace again.
