While I do a little darning here and there. My older brother Jack darns his socks and other clothing all the time. From what I understand his Mom taught him and his 3 other siblings to mend their clothes. My Mom taught all of us the same. I do all my own alterations/mending as well as Husband's, one of our sons and the grand kids clothes.
