Thank you Rob . It's a Mary Hertel pattern - foundation piecing, which is... not my favourite. But I'm happy with the result.

I am very pleased to say that I've actually completed the DSM quilting. The quality of the quilting is variable, but it's only my second time and I'm learning, so I'll keep it. I've actually managed to trim it down, cut the access and hole, and attached one side of the binding (by machine, I'll do the other side by hand). So that feels fabulous!!

I've now moved on to working on fabric bags (to replace - at least some - paper wrapping *next* Christmas).

Of course what I probably should be doing is, like copycat, dealing with putting away Christmas decorations. They're down and re-boxed (mainly) and just need taking upstairs to the cupboard... Probably not going to happen today I do love the sound of the whale quilt though. DS loves 'the Snail and the Whale' book.
