I observed him balancing another bowl under his oatmeal so he could hold and eat it. I used batting I had on hand and have no idea of the content so I would not chance them in the microwave.
I do the same thing. Use it as a bowl hot pad. Warm your food in the microwave. Take it to and put the dish in the cozy. So many food items spit and spill over while heating that it reduces the clean up or washing of the cozy.
