Thanks, KLO. As long as you can do sc, inc, dec, slip st, you are good to go for amigurumi. The thread and gauge are smaller than for say, afghans, but you get used to that.
To keep place in my rounds, I use a Clover stitch marker, the kind that opens like a safety pin so I can move it when I want to. It takes some practice to recognize round changes.
So no, not difficult. Give it a try! Toys are very forgiving, if you make some small mistakes.
The patterns I have used lately come from Jan Schenkel's first book, Animal Friends of Pica Pau. She writes good patterns! I have also bought patterns on Etsy and had no problems.
