Hot Cereal, Mixing Up the Grains
I don't eat hot cereal for breakfast very often, mostly because I find it kind of boring and my husband won't touch it. However, I've started moving away from just oatmeal and mixing in other grains. I like it a lot better and it's far more interesting. My mix today is:
old fashioned rolled oats
buckwheat
a little wheat germ
chia seeds
raisins
I put them all in together in a pot with some water and cooked them until the buckwheat was tender. I added a some stevia-monk fruit sweetener, a dash of cinnamon and a very, small, pat of butter in the center of my bowl. Pretty good!
