Default A new but old quilt

Many years ago I purchased this quilt top in an antique shop in PA, I was intrigued by it due to it being completely hand sewn. I laundered it then put it away for a while. Last year I decided it was time to get it quilted but when I laid it out to begin the basting process it was apparent it wasn't going to lay flat. So, with not much else to do last year, I deconstructed it down to the 1/2 square triangle pieces, resized everything, then machine sewed it back together. Of course once I did that, the size was a bit smaller which meant adding more borders to it than it originally had. I wanted to frame it with a fabric similar in color to the blue in it but just try to find something that looks close to the 60+ year old fabric, no such luck. My husband suggested the navy so that's what I went with. Overall I'm pleased with the final and very happy to have left some of the original maker's hand piecing. Thanks for looking.
