For many years, we made our own wine from kits or from pure juice. One batch of very expensive pure juice Monte Pulcianno was off. It tasted corked from the very first bottle. Well, we couldn't return the 'fermented juice' so I cooked with some very good wine for quite a long time. (BTW the corky taste does go away in the cooking process).
