Thank you so much for the links! Yes, that's the idea I was thinking of. I have a great quilting store in my city (my friend is the owner) but she's very busy. I didn't want to bother her and I do miss going into the store to get ideas.
We bought a cottage a few years ago and I wanted to make a 'sailing quilt' for DH. I've been gathering the fabric and now is the time to put it together.
Many years ago we lived in Vancouver but I never made it to Seattle though we did get to the San Juan Islands. Beautiful.
